Create your barcodeWhen your products join other brands in a retailer’s or marketplace’s catalogue, your own numbers can clash with theirs. Check the partner’s requirements: this is where a globally unique GS1 product number becomes useful and is often required.

Want your IDs to start with 666? In your own internal system, you can. Choose Code 128 and try 666000001 for your first item, 666000002 for the next, or use a name such as SOAP-001. The scanner reads the ID; your software looks up the product, price or stock record you have linked to it.
Using EAN-13? Enter 12 digits and Barqode calculates the final check digit. A scannable number is not automatically a registered GTIN. Arbitrary prefixes such as 666 are private choices, not GS1 allocations. For internal EAN codes that follow GS1 rules, see GS1’s restricted-circulation guidance.
Use the format your retailer or stock system expects. A smaller package or a different market may need a different format.
A common choice for retail products in Europe and internationally. Enter 12 digits to calculate the check digit, or all 13 to validate it.
Common on North American retail packaging. Enter 11 digits, or a complete 12-digit number.
For small retail items with an assigned GTIN-8. It is a separate number, not a shortened EAN-13.
For cases and outer packaging using a GTIN-14. Choose EAN or UPC for a typical retail checkout item.
For your own internal item IDs and inventory labels. It supports letters and numbers; it does not assign a retail GTIN.

Yes. In a system you control, you can assign your own product numbers and turn them into barcodes. Keep each number unique within your catalogue and connect it to the right product. A random number is a starting point, so check your records before using it.
Not just because you sell online. If you manage your own catalogue, stock and fulfilment, and your software accepts internal IDs, your own numbering can be enough. Check any connected marketplace, product feed or fulfilment service separately: it may require a recognised GTIN.
Yes, as a private identifier in your own system. Code 128 can encode 666 followed by your chosen item number, without GS1 registration. EAN-13 can also encode a 12-digit value beginning with 666 plus a valid check digit, but that does not make it an allocated GS1 prefix or a registered GTIN. For GS1-standard internal EAN numbering, use its restricted-circulation rules.
Get a product identifier through your local GS1 organisation, then enter that assigned number here to create the barcode artwork. Barqode does not issue or register GS1 product numbers.
The barcode contains an identifier. Your shop or inventory system must associate that identifier with the product and price. Downloading an image does not create a product record.
Yes, if you manage the numbering in your own system. Code 128 is useful for internal item IDs. Check for duplicates in your records; randomly generated samples do not guarantee uniqueness.
Use SVG, EPS or PDF when your design or print workflow accepts them. PNG and JPG are also available. Preserve the blank space around the bars and test the final printed label with your intended scanner.
