A book barcode is usually an ISBN-13 inside an EAN-13 symbol.

ISBN-13 numbers for books commonly begin with 978 or 979. The printed barcode is scanned as an EAN-13 symbol, often called Bookland EAN. If you have the first 12 digits, Barqode can calculate the final check digit before exporting the barcode artwork.
